Book Review | Terry Goodkind – The Third Kingdom (Sword of Truth Series)

Hi Beauty Addicts!

I know I have been away from the blogosphere for a little “Me” time, but keep the faith. I am working on many a good posts which I think you guys will love.

Just to give you a little taste of something more than just the usual beauty category – here’s a little titbit about myself. I love to read. I’m an avid book fan (and movie goer). I thought I would share with you my latest read. The amazing Terry Goodkind has just recently released his latest addition to the “Sword of Truth” saga – “The Third Kingdom”.

I pre-ordered this book on my kindle – and I was unable to put it down. The worst part? I got to the end and I have to wait for the next book to continue my adventure!

This particular series actually had me spell bound for a long time…I just could not put them down. I was really disappointed when I thought the series had ended with “Confessor”. Imagine my delight when I found that the  book “The Omen Machine” was released and the story continues?!

If you are the kind of person who enjoys old fashioned adventures in a different era, heck in a different world altogether, and if you have a particular love of fantasy and magic, then this series is one you will definitely be able to sink your teeth into. I have every single one of these books and they are a beloved part of my collection. Right up there with Harry Potter 😛

Now, a little more about the actual book itself:

Sticking to his usual prose and penchant for action, deep and meaningful thought and a thoroughly twisted plot with highs and lows that will leave your mind blown, Terry Goodkind delves right back into the chaotic and whirlwind lives of Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell. The plot is a continuation of their story from the previous book “The Omen Machine” and to be honest I had completely forgotten what had happened at the end so I re-read the book and then started on “The Third Kingdom”. I am kinda glad I did, because I got to revel in the glory that is my personal “check out of reality for a while” world a little longer. The book is actually really well written and you can conjure up some intense imagery and get a real feel for the atmosphere, surrounding and what you would imagine our main characters are seeing around them. Need I say more?

I don’t want to say much about the plot in case I do spoil it for some people, but if you were looking for a great new genre or even a new series to get into then this would be one that I would highly recommend.

Hope you guys enjoyed my diversion from the norm X Would love to hear about your favourite books and series and if you are into reading something other than fashion mags 🙂
